Drew Hampden

Michael “Drew” Hampden was born and raised in Nova Scotia. After graduating from high school, he went to Saint Francis Xavier University where he pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Marketing. During his final year he worked with the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society on a project researching and analyzing access to justice in rural Nova Scotia. The project reinforced his interest in the law, and drew him closer to the pursuit of a legal career. Subsequent to his graduation, Drew returned to St. FX in order to complete a second major in Finance.

After completing his studies at St. FX, Drew attended the Schulich School of law at Dalhousie University. He was voted the “Most outgoing first year law student” at the end of Dalhousie University’s orientation week. Aside from meeting new people, and when he was not reading or weight training, he also enjoyed acting as VP of Finance for both the Dalhousie Black Law Students’ Association, as well as the Black Law Students Association of Canada. He found this particularly rewarding in light of the fact that it was the national organizations 25th anniversary year.

During each summer break Drew participated in LAWN Summer Nights, a charitable event held in support of those individuals who suffer from cystic fibrosis. He was the top fundraiser for his team, and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Drew has worked with Wagners law firm since his first summer of law school. Here, he has found fulfillment in providing legal assistance to various members of the Nova Scotian community. He has worked on medical malpractice, class action and personal injury files. Currently his practice focuses exclusively on assisting victims of negligence. He represents clients in personal injury litigation including car accident injuries, municipal/premise liability and slip and fall injuries. In doing so, he has received meaningful guidance in working with Ray Wagner, and the rest of the firm’s legal team.
